Connecting Mastodon
How to connect your Mastodon account to Fervae.
Mastodon is a decentralized social network, which means there are many separate servers (called "instances") running it. Your account lives on a specific instance, like mastodon.social or fosstodon.org. Because of this, Fervae needs to know which instance you're on before it can connect.
Steps
- In Fervae, go to Settings → Brands & Accounts and click Connect next to Mastodon.
- Enter your instance URL (e.g., mastodon.social, fosstodon.org, or whichever server your account is on).
- You'll be taken to your instance's authorization page. Log in and approve the permissions.
- You'll be redirected back to Fervae.
Not sure which instance you're on?
Look at your Mastodon username. It follows the format @yourname@instance.url. The part after the second @ is your instance.
